United Utilities to host drop-in event about investment around Coniston
United Utilities is set to host a drop-in event next week so the public can find out more about its investment plans for Coniston.
The North West’s water company is upgrading its wastewater treatment works in Coniston to improve water quality in the lake.
The investment will see the capacity of the works increase to allow more sewage to be treated. This will reduce the number of times that the storm overflow operates during periods of heavy rain.
United Utilities will be at the Coniston Institute between 2pm and 7pm on Wednesday 9 April. Staff will be on hand to talk through the projects and answer any questions that the public may have.
As a result of the works, a number of deliveries are going to be made overnight to Coniston wastewater treatment works between 10pm and 5am on Wednesday 23- Thursday 24 April and Tuesday 29 – Wednesday 30 April. Residents are being asked not to park cars on the delivery route and letters have been sent to impacted properties.
